Suffering from a paraphiliac psychosexual disorder, Hiroshi Maeue was a serial killer that thrived in 2005. Having a PPD, he could only feel sexual satisfaction through strangulation and after committing three murders he was hanged in Osaka, July 28. Maeue was a bright young man in his twenties and attended Kanazawa Institute of Technology. However, he dropped out in 1988 for strangling his male friend. Before killing, he had a record of assaulting people through strangulation. In 1995 he was arrested for strangulating his male associate and eventually lost his job; he then was apprehended again in 2001 for attempting to strangle women on the streets and for assaulting a middle school boy. After being released from prison early for good conduct, he became an employee at a temporary staff agency. He was caught by authorities by how he had left digital footprints to his third victim, Nagamoto (25 female). He had records of emailing her and renting new cars that lead to his capture. He then admit to authorities that he had murdered two others and that he felt sexual arousal when asphyxiating others.
Victim Profiles:
He chose his victims through a suicide club website. He found people who were willing to meet and commit suicide together and he eventually managed to get three people within his grasp. When looking at his victims, he there wasn't a specific profile amongst the victims; he murdered a 25 year old woman, a 14 year old boy, and a 21 year old college male. The only link amongst his victims was the fact that they were suicidal people that were contactable online. It's clear that his violence and lust developed as years pasted and he started to get bolder in his actions.
Method of Operation:
Found potential targets on a suicide club online
Offered to commit suicide together in a car by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Rented cars before committing murder
Once in a car with victim somewhere in the mountains, asphyxiated them with hands
Dumped bodies in the mountains
Murders were not discreetly done and clean ups were very sloppy
